Top Rated Ski Area in North America

Bring your family, bring your friends

Winter in the Malone Region means it's time to ski, and Titus Mountain Family Ski Center is the best place for newbies, families, and experienced skiers to make tracks. There's plenty of big-mountain skiing at other resorts; Titus is all about quality and value. It's the kind of place where short lift lines, uncrowded slopes, magnificent grooming, friendly staff, and low prices are the norm, but that doesn't mean skiers need to sacrifice fun. Titus is big on variety, too, with its three mountains, 50 trails, tubing lanes, night skiing, glade skiing, 10 chairlifts, and two lodges.

Family fun is the focus at Titus

Don't just take our word for it. Liftopia gave Titus Mountain Family Ski Center the following awards:

  • #1 Beginner Friendly in North America
  • #2 Family Friendly in North America
  • #2 Overall Best in Snow in the northeast
  • #3 Best Value in the northeast

No pressure, just fun

With so much to do at Titus, anyone can have some winter fun there. Kids and adults who aren't into skiing or snowboarding can hit the tubing park, where they can cruise downhill on inflatable inner tubes. This isn't the sledding hill you went to growing up -- there are multiple tubing lanes at Titus, and a lift to bring sliders back to the top. There's even a warming station near the tubing lanes for anyone who'd rather watch than ride.

Tubing is fun, but eventually the slopes will call. At the Snow Sports School, novices of any age can be taught to ski or snowboard by an expert. Kids love the Titus Teddy Learning Area, and adults can join an adult clinic. By the end of the day, beginners will be ready for longer runs!

Speaking of longer runs, there are trails available for all skill levels starting at the top of each of the three mountains. Gentle greens, moderate blues, and steep blacks and double blacks descend in different directions -- there are also glades along the way -- and three terrain parks are available to challenge you. And be sure to stick around for the evening. Since Titus has night skiing until 10 p.m. in Moon Valley, skiers can watch the sunset as they turn their way down the mountain. Not into downhill? There are trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing too!

By the time the sun is setting over Moon Valley, you've probably worked up an appetite. Grab a slope-side dinner at one of three restaurants and get back out there, or stay in the cozy confines of the lodge and enjoy live music with an ice cold brew.
