Lower St. Regis Lake is a lovely part of the St. Regis River chain, which also includes Upper St. Regis Lake and Spitfire Lake.

Fishing

It covers 350 acres, with an average depth of 17 feet which drops to a maximum depth of 38 feet.

Paul Smiths College is at the northern end of the lake.

Species: Northern pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, yellow perch, brown bullhead, rainbow smelt, pumpkinseed, golden shiner, white sucker.Access: Paul Smiths College, accessible by permission. Alternately, paddle in from above the outlet dam on Keese Mill Road, or the Upper St Regis Lake boat launch.

Paddling

Access via Lower St. Regis Lake lets paddlers explore Spitfire and Upper St. Regis Lakes on their way to the Saint Regis Canoe Area.
