How to Get There

From Malone, follow Route 30 south. Continue to Mountain Pond Road on the left. Drive this rough dirt road to the shores of Mountain Pond. 

Overview

Mountain Pond is an interesting feature, as its namesake mountain dives deep into the waters with interesting rock and cliff formations. Be sure to hang out and paddle into the numerous small bays and enjoy a relaxing picnic or an escape on the peninsulas.

If you have some serious adventure ideas, hike up the mountain and take in great views from some of the open rock areas, but be very careful. There are no trails on the mountain, but many faint herd paths can lead you up to some of the overlooks.
