Visit the North Country
North of the Adirondacks and just south of the Canadian border, there's a busy little city that's a great jump-off point for a northern New York adventure. Sure, there's shopping and dining here, but now that winter is fast approaching let's talk about the countless opportunities to enjoy the winter season with downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.
Our famed Titus Mountain Family Ski Center, voted #1 family-friendly resort in North America by Liftopia, features three mountains, 50 trails, and glade skiing with 10 lifts, two lodges, and a 2,025-foot summit. If downhill is not your thing, cross country ski our flat farm lands and rolling foot hills of the Adirondacks. Or, ice fish in one of our five waterways.
For a taste of history, don't miss the Almanzo Wilder Farm. The property was the boyhood home of Almanzo, who married Little House on the Prairie author Laura Ingalls Wilder. The farm hosts seasonal events such as the Wilder Christmas, a free celebration with cider, cookies, mulled cider, and readings of a "Farmer Boy" Christmas.
Shopping and relaxation
We love outdoor activities, but the fun in Malone doesn't stop where nature ends. Our shopping centers will keep you browsing for hours, or you can check out our casino and take in a show. Everyone needs to kick back and relax sometimes, and our array of lodging properties provide that opportunity.
