Azure Mountain

2+ to 4 Hours

Passing through an attractive wetland area almost immediately from the parking lot, you will enjoy the sounds of local wild birds singing your praises. Then you start your moderate to steep climb up the shoulder of Azure. The trail is heavily used and easy to follow. Passing through tall fields of brambles you gain elevation quickly. Once on the summit, the fire tower is open for you to visit, but also be sure to hike the path along the edge over to a neat balanced boulder.

Trailhead: Follow Route 30 south out of Malone and locate Route 458 on the right. From here follow Route 458 to Blue Mountain Road which will be on the left. Continue on Blue Mountain Road for around 7.5 miles to the trailhead on the right.

Distance: 1 mile

Elevation: 2,500 feet
