35th Annual Oktoberfest Returns to Titus Mountain in Malone

Malone, NY - Titus Mountain invites all to their 35th annual Oktoberfest to be held on Saturday, October 3. The day will be filled with local vendors, delicious food, fantastic live music and as always a spectacular fireworks show to finish the night.

Oktoberfest has been an annual tradition at Titus Mountain as a way to kick-off ski season for 35 years. "Oktoberfest is our way of opening the mountain and showing people what we've been up to over the summer months," said Christopher Monette, one of three local brothers who own Titus Mountain. "We have our season pass sale, of course, but Oktoberfest is also a way for us to open our mountain to the community and create an event for everyone--not just skiers."

The annual event draws over 3,000 people for a day of fun, food, and of course, fireworks. "Every year we try and increase the 'wow' factor of our fireworks show. For the past 4 years it's something that our community seems to look forward to and we plan on upping the ante every year," said Dene Savage, Director of Business Development at Titus Mountain, who has worked with the fireworks vendor for the past 4 years.

This year the event includes live music starting at 1 p.m. by Paid Company followed by Dumas Karaoke and Backdraft. There will be over 70 local vendors exhibiting their products, from chainsaw carvings to handmade jewelry and Adirondack-inspired crafts. The Titus Teddy Kids' Zone is a free kid friendly area that includes a blow-up castle and slide, Zorb balls, face painting, and kids' activities and games. The mechanical bull also returns to the mountain for the young and young-at-heart.

The event begins at 10 a.m.; admission is $5 and kids 12 and under are free. Oktoberfest is also a fundraiser for the Titus Mountain Ski Patrol and Adirondack for Kids. Food proceeds from the outdoor grill will benefit Ski Patrol and $1 from every admission goes towards Adirondack for Kids. More information about the event can be found online at www.TitusMountain.com. The annual event is rain or shine.
